Meet Dr. Jeff Charlton
Dr. Jeff Charlton is a certified medical anesthesiologist practicing in Edmonton since 1995.
Dr. Charlton attended the University of Alberta where he earned his B.Sc. (Med) in 1987 and his medical degree (M.D.) in 1990. Following medical school, Dr. Charlton completed a rotating internship at the Charles Camsell Hospital in Edmonton. In 1991, Jeff entered the anesthesia training program at the University of Alberta, successfully completing the program in 1995 and obtaining the status of Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 1995.
In 1995 after completing the anesthesia training program, Jeff split his time between St. Joseph’s Hospital in Comox B.C. and Edmonton, AB until 1997 when he returned to Edmonton full time at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. Jeff is an Associate Clinical Lecturer for the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at the U of A and an active member of staff at the Royal Alexandra Hospitals department of Anesthesiology. Jeff is actively involved in teaching medical students and anesthesia residents. Jeff has also served as Chair for the Department of Anesthesiology Morbidity and Mortality committee.
Jeff has had extensive experience ( 15+yrs.) in out patient anesthesia in non-hospital surgical facilities, and has been on staff at Kingsway Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery since 2007.
Jeff and his lovely wife Carmen are busy raising a young family, but still find time to enjoy some cycling, running and cross country skiing.
