Meet Dr. Cathy L. Cave, M.D., FRCP(C)

Dr. Cathy L. Cave is certified, by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as a specialist in the practice of anesthesiology. She has practiced as an anesthesiologist in Edmonton since 1997, prior to that she had a busy practice in Regina for six years.

Cathy received her M.D. from the University of Saskatchewan in 1986. She then completed a general medical internship at the Misericordia Hospital in Edmonton. In 1987 she entered the specialist anesthesia residency program at the University of Alberta, successfully completing the residency and obtaining the status of Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 1991. She has been a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry since 1997.

Since obtaining specialist qualifications in 1991, she practiced anesthesia in Regina until moving to Edmonton in 1997. Since then she has worked at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Department of Anesthesia as well as at numerous non-hospital surgical facilities. Cathy began to practice at Kingsway Oral Surgery in 2012 and brought with her a great deal of knowledge, strong background and extensive experience in ambulatory day surgery anesthesia. She has been a strong addition to the anesthesia team.

Cathy is married with two wonderful daughters. she enjoys a variety of fitness pursuits including skiing, hiking, and wake surfing.
