Dr. Walter DobrovolskyDr. Walter Dobrovolsky is a certified specialist in oral and maxillofacial surgery who has practiced in Edmonton, Alberta at Kingsway Oral Surgery since 1989.

He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto in 1972 and received a Bachelor of Science. He received his undergraduate dental degree from the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto in 1976 and completed his training at the University of Toronto Oral and Maxillofacial Program in 1980. He graduated from his residency with the Colonel Sam McLaughlin Award for Excellence in Oral Surgery. He received his M.R.C.D. (C) in 1981 and his F.R.C.D. (C) in 1983.He taught full time at the University of Toronto as an Assistant Professor until 1983 and was involved in both undergraduate and post-graduate teaching until moving to Alberta in December of 1988. His primary area of research was the construction of a total temporomandibular joint prosthesis.

Walter is currently engaged in active oral and maxillofacial surgery in Edmonton. He has been an Examiner of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and is presently the Chief Examiner for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for the College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia. He is presently Assistant Professor in the Department of Dentistry at the Faculty of Dentistry and Medicine at the University of Alberta. He is currently President of the Alberta Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and is the immediate past Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Hospital-based Dentistry in the Capital Health Region.

Walter has served in the past as President of the Ontario Society of Oral and Max illofacial Surgeons, the Ontario Society of Dental Anesthesiologists and the Alberta Society of Dental Specialists. He has lectured extensively across Canada.

Walter is married to Elizabeth and they have three wonderful children.
