Dr. Brent BucykDr. Brent Bucyk, B.Sc. (Med), M.D., FRCP(C)

Dr. Brent Bucyk is a certified medical anaesthesiologist who has practiced in Edmonton since 1998.

Brent obtained his B.Sc. (Med) at the University of Alberta in 1981 and received his M.D. 1983. A rotating internship was completed at the Edmonton General Hospital in 1984. Brent completed his anaesthesia training at the University of Alberta and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 1988.

Since 1988 Brent has been an associate clinical professor at the University of Alberta. He also served as the Resident Program Director at the Royal Alexandra Hospital from 1988 to 1992. Brent also chaired the Moribidity and Mortality Committee at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. He took on the duties of President of the Alberta Division of the Canadian Anaesthesia Society for two years starting in 1992. In 1994, Brent joined the Alberta Medical Association Subcommittee of Medical Association Subcommittee of Medical Benefits and went on to chair this committee from 1997 to 2000. During that time Brent was involved in various other Medical Association activites. Brent has been provided medical anaesthesia at Kingsway Oral Surgery since 2002.

Brent has been married to Gail for 15 years and they have two active boys, Jameson and Shaun. For the last three years, Brent has been elected to the Board of Directors at the Derrick Golf and Country Club. As a director he has particularly enjoyed the last two years as Chairman of the Golf Greens Committee. Brent and Gail enjoy golf, curling and quality family time at their lake cabin.
